We want to combat unnecessary food waste, as food waste is a burden on the economy, but also on our environment and society.

Food waste

By focusing on recycling options for our surplus products, we take part in the fight to prevent food waste.

We take an active part in minimizing food waste, which is one of the reasons why we offer a resealable feature on our packaging.

We have included a zipper so you can open and close the bag and ensure that your food can maintain its good quality throughout the shelf life without having to use all the contents at once. We use sortable and recyclable plastic for this purpose.

The latest initiative in the fight against food waste is a formalized agreement with DanChurchAid about the sale of our by-products in their stores, from which all financial profits go to combating poverty in developing countries.

Sustainability

At Nordic Food Partners, we work towards increased accountability and transparency in our rice supply chain. That's why we collaborate with suppliers who participate in the Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP), a global multi-stakeholder alliance that brings together governments, NGOs, civil society organizations (CSOs), the financial sector, private sector companies, and farmer organizations to promote sustainable rice production.

SRP has developed an international standard and verification system that supports traceability and documentation throughout the supply chain. The standard covers, among other things, cultivation practices, resource consumption, and social conditions in production. To support transparency and data management, SRP has also developed RiceTrace, a digital traceability platform designed to document and monitor rice supply chains from farm to market.

As part of our work on responsible sourcing, we seek to support supply chains that operate according to the principles and requirements of the SRP. By promoting traceability, transparency, and documented sustainability practices throughout the value chain, initiatives such as the SRP Standard and RiceTrace contribute to our ongoing efforts towards responsible purchasing.

CSR and growth go hand in hand

At Nordic Food Partners A/S, we believe that CSR and growth naturally go hand in hand. Through our experiences with importing rice from the absolute poorest parts of the world, poverty alleviation is a natural parameter for us to address. Therefore, it is our business philosophy that through the development of ecology and sustainability, we try to create added value and to develop ourselves into a company that can create growth and prosperity for the different social groups with whom we do business around the world.

Innovation that improves the living standards of rice farmers.

One of our contributions to the development of society and the growth of our partners is to collaborate with rice farmers at the source, with the aim of converting from conventional production to organic production. This is a vision and approach that both meets the growing demand for organic food and simultaneously improves the living standards of farmers.

We particularly focus on better working conditions, a greater return on products and increased biodiversity, which ultimately creates better living conditions for the farmer, his family and the society they are a part of.
